Staff Sergeant Chad Ranton, a native of Dallas, Texas, and a member of the Marine Corps Shooting Team, rushes to Capt. Jared Dalton, a native of West Jordan, Utah, also a member of the MCST, during a pistol match May 19 at the Puckapunyal Military Area, Victoria, Australia, during the Australian Army Skill at Arms Meeting 2015. AASAM is an annual, international combat-marksmanship competition hosted by the Australian Army, May 6 to 22. MCST is comprised of 12 Marines from Marine Corps Base Quantico and Marine Rotational Force- Darwin to represent the Marine Corps in this year’s competition. Serving as the Corps' primary means of competitive shooting both nationally and internationally, the mission of the Marine Corps Shooting Team is to incorporate intermediate level marksmanship skills and techniques derived from annual training and develop those skills and techniques into competitive marksmanship training standards, to enhance the use of individual small arms.
