Corporal Ben Downing, a native of Boise, Idaho, and a guest member of the Marine Corps Shooting Team, and Cpl. Ryan Salacinski, a native of Laurel, Montana, also a guest member of the MCST, shoot their M16A4 service rifles during a close quarters match May 12 at the Puckapunyal Military Area, Victoria, Australia, during the Australian Army Skill at Arms Meeting 2015. AASAM is an annual, international combat-marksmanship competition hosted by the Australian Army, May 6 to 22. It consists of more than 30 service pistol, service rifle, sniper rifle, machine gun, and physical competitions. During the match, competitors started engaging their targets from standing supported positions at 100 meters, moved up to 75 meters and continued shooting in kneeling supported positions, and finished shooting standing unsupported at 50 and 25 meters.
