A Romanian artilleryman fires a 152mm artillery system May 21, 2015, during Exercise Platinum Eagle at Babadag Training Area, Romania. Exercise Platinum Eagle is a multilateral exercise designed to strengthen partnerships between NATO Allies and improve techniques, tactics, and procedures. U.S. Marines, Romanian soldiers and Bulgarian soldiers participated in the two week exercise during which they trained together in events like live-fire ranges with artillery, mortar systems, rockets, missiles and machine guns, combat life-saving, patrolling and trench-clearing.
