Families and friends of those who have passed away line up in the waters off of Magic Island at Ala Moana Beach Park with decorated lanterns to release for the Lantern Floating Hawaii ceremony held May 25, 2015. A local Buddhist sect of Shinnyo-en has organized the Memorial Day event since it first stared in 1999.
