Parkersburg, W.Va., native Sgt. Eric Baum, assigned to B Troop, 1st Battalion, 150th Armor Reconnaissance Squadron, 30th Heavy Brigade Combat Team, takes a retinal scan of an Iraqi using the Handheld Interagency Identity Detection Equipment System (HIIDES). Soldiers of B Troop scanned Iraqis coming through the checkpoint in order to identify possible insurgents.
