Task Force 51/5th Marine Expeditionary Brigade

Corporal Cruz Ramirez, a welder with the Engineer Detachment, Logistics Combat Element, Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force-Crisis Response-Central Command from San José, Calif., helps craft a weapons rack for the SPMAGTF-CR-CC’s Corporals Course in an undisclosed location within the Central Command area of operations. Though his primary job is to weld, Ramirez has deployed as a heavy equipment operator and performs a variety of tasks within the engineering field. The small detachment elements of the SPMAGTF allow the unit to respond to a variety of crisis situations while forward deployed.
