A U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster III aircrew member exits the aircraft in full mission-oriented protective posture gear May 20, 2015, during Crescent Reach 15 at Joint Base Charleston, S.C. This local exercise, which tested and evaluated Joint Base Charleston's ability to launch a large aircraft formation in addition to process and deploy duty passengers and cargo in response to a simulated crisis abroad from May 18-21. Deploying members' ability to survive and operate in deployed environments was also exercise through Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear Explosives training and evaluation events.
