Marines climb up and over a cargo net obstacle as they run through through the endurance course April 19 at the Jungle Warfare Training Center, Okinawa, Japan. Marines ran in 12-man squads over roughly five miles of Okinawa jungle and through 30 obstacles in JWTC’s culminating event, which helps to build upon what the Marines learned through the previous week of jungle warfare training. “It’s basically one big team-building exercise,” said Cpl. David Knight, a squad leader and Rocklin, Calif., native. The Marines are with Company L, 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment. The Hawaii-based battalion is attached to 4th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force as part of the unit deployment program. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Sgt.
