Master-at-Arms 2nd Class Joshua Dietrich, assigned to Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadron (VQ) 3, U.S. Navy, jumps over barriers while carrying jerry cans full of water as he makes his way through an obstacle course while participating in a fitness challenge as a part of Police Week at Travis Air Force Base, May 12, 2015. The run was part of a fitness challenge arranged for Police Week. In 1962, President John F. Kennedy proclaimed May 15 as National Peace Officers Memorial Day and the calendar week in which May 15 falls as National Police Week. Established by a joint resolution of Congress in 1962, National Police Week pays special recognition to those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others.
