QUANTICO, Va.(May 9, 2015) QUANTICO, Va. Carlos Buitron (USMC Ret.) and Maggy Cervantes of Alvin, Texas, view “Drown Proofing,” a photo currently on display at the National Museum of the Marine Corps (NMMC) as part of an exhibit dedicated to the 2014 Department of Defense Communicators of Excellence Awards (COE). “Drown Proofing,” by U.S. Air force Master Sgt. Jeffrey Allen, earned Allen first place for the Features Category in the competition that recognize the military’s best photographers, videographers and journalists. This NMMC exhibit represents the first time a national museum has dedicated an exhibit solely to the COE Award winners, and will be on display throughout May in honor of Armed Forces Day, Memorial Day and Military Appreciation Month.
