Corporal Taylor Butler, a combat engineer with Combat Logistics Detachment 1, Marine Rotational Force – Darwin, paints a stage during volunteer work May 2 at C3 Church in Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia. U.S. Marines volunteered their time and services to aid in the renovation of a community church for underprivileged children and families to utilize the facilities. MRF-D is the deployment of U.S. Marines to Darwin and the Northern Territory, for approximately six months at a time, where they will conduct exercises and training on a rotational basis with the Australian Defence Force. Marine community engagements in the Northern Territory are intended to add depth to our relationship with Australia. Beyond purely military training, we greatly appreciate Australia’s hospitality and believe we have much to learn, and much to share, with our gracious hosts. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl.
