Rct. Kentel R. Bundrage, left, and Rct. Nathan S. Stephens, both with Platoon 2040, Fox Company, 2nd Recruit Training Battalion, climb a Confidence Course obstacle March 31, 2015, on Parris Island, S.C. Recruits tackle, scale and weave their way through the course’s 15 obstacles, which are designed to increase self-confidence. Bundrage, 18, from Sparta, Ga., and Stephens, 19, from Acworth, Ga., are scheduled to graduate June 5, 2015. Parris Island has been the site of Marine Corps recruit training since Nov. 1, 1915. Today, approximately 20,000 recruits come to Parris Island annually for the chance to become United States Marines by enduring 13 weeks of rigorous, transformative training. Parris Island is home to entry-level enlisted training for 50 percent of males and 100 percent of females in the Marine Corps. (Photo by Sgt. Jennifer Schubert)
