Sergeant Maj. Joseph D. Shaw shakes hands with Col. Thomas J. Gordon, the commanding officer of II Marine Headquarters Group. Shaw was awarded the Legion of Merit and retired during the sergeant major relief and appointment ceremony aboard Camp Lejeune, April 23, 2015. Shaw is retiring after 30 years of honorable service, and Sgt. Maj.
