Brig. Gen. John “Jack” Haley, Chief of Ordnance and Commandant of the U.S. Army Ordnance School, visits Virginia Army National Guard units April 21, 2015, at Fort Pickett, Va. As Commandant of the U.S. Army Ordnance School, Haley is responsible for the training of all armament and electronics maintainers, munitions and explosive ordnance disposal, ordnance electronics maintenance, tactical support equipment, track metalworking and recovery, and wheeled vehicle maintenance for the entire U.S. Army. During his visit, Haley toured the Mobilization and Training Equipment Site, or MATES, the 183rd Regiment, Regional Training Institute and conducted an aerial tour of Fort Pickett’s 42,000 acres of available training area. The visit was another step in an ongoing process to build a partnership with Fort Lee and the Ordnance School as well as educate active duty Army leaders about the capabilities of the Virginia National Guard.
