Spc. Stephanie Menser is a wheeled-vehicle mechanic from Palmyra, Pa., who is deployed to Camp Adder, Iraq.In addition to fixing Army trucks, which can range from small pickups to 500 horsepower all-terrain cargo vehicles, she works in the woodshop run by her unit, Echo Company, 2/104th General Support Aviation Battalion.Menser considers the deployment a "self sabbatical," giving her time and space to save money and concentrate on her future plans.After her deployment, she plans to attend the University of Maryland and work toward a degree in political science.
