Coast Guard Petty Officer 1st Class Shawn McCann, from Philipsburg, Mont., who is assigned to the Coast Guard Recruiting Office San Antonio, spoke to approximately 300 Military Civilian Club members and guests during the club’s monthly gathering at The Club at Sonterra. Ten military ambassadors are selected annually, representing each branch of service for a year-long commitment and participate during Fiesta San Antonio, a celebration of military history surrounding the siege and final assault on the Alamo in San Antonio and the Battle of San Jacinto, Texas, both occurring in 1836. The Military Civilian Club escorts the military ambassadors during Fiesta.
