TAKEO, Cambodia (March 30, 2015) Builder 3rd Class Samantha Smeed, assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 5, and a member of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces mix mortar for placing concrete blocks while building a maternity ward. The Seabees assigned to NMCB 5’s Civic Construction Action Detail (CCAD) Cambodia have been building a two room facility at the Nhaeng Nhang Maternity Ward. The CCAD's mission is to execute engineering civic assistance projects, conduct skills exchanges with the host nation, and perform community relations events to help enhance shared capabilities and maintain relationships.
