Amphibious Assault Vehicles from Alpha Company, 2nd Assault Amphibian Battalion, 2nd Marine Division assaulted Onslow Beach, Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, N.C., April 13, 2015. More than 200 Marines from 1st Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment traveled to Norfolk, Va., to board the USS Kearsarge, April 9-13, 2015, in support of Joint Operations Access Exercise (JOAX) 15.1. In support of the exercise scenario, Marines simulated being part of a Marine Expeditionary Unit element deployed to conduct ship to short assault, Onslow Beach, Camp Lejeune.
