Lance Corporal Scott McDonnell, rifleman, Company A, 1st Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, Marine Rotational Force - Darwin, waits for his baggage to be inspected by bio-security officers with the Australian Department of Agriculture. The biosecurity officers searched for any soil, seeds, or foreign agricultural debris in the Marines’ baggage. MRF-D is the deployment of U.S. Marines to Darwin and the Northern Territory, for approximately six months at a time, where they will conduct exercises and training on a rotational basis with the Australian Defence Force.
