North Carolina National Guard's Sgt. First Class Charles Ritz passes the Ziggurat of Ur, a 50-foot tall ruin that is around 4,000 years old and is currently protected by coalition forces, while running a leg of the Boston Marathon in Iraq. Ritz's 5th Battalion of the 113th Field Artillery Regiment organized the 26.2 mile run, which is sanctioned by the Boston Athletic Association and sponsored by the OLN. It was the largest participatory morale and recreation event for coalition forces in Iraq with some 650 runners and staffers.
