Marine Lance Cpl. Dominique Noel, a postal deputy for the Forward Coordination Element, Marine Rotational Force- Darwin practices proper dribbling techniques with local children April 6 at the U.S. State Department sponsored “Hoops Up!” basketball clinic in Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia. Noel, a Memphis, Tennessee, native, and other Marine volunteers guided over 120 children through various basketball drills including loop dribbles, 35 second layups, and dribbling sit-ups. Each drill was carefully selected to enhance the participants’ basketball skills, and instill a passion for fitness and competitive athletics. U.S. Marines are good neighbors who are engaged with and contribute to host communities. They are immersed in the local culture, engaged with their hosts, and contribute socially and economically to local communities.
