Sailors assigned to Navy Cargo Handling Battalion One work with Soldiers from the Army 332nd Headquarters and Headquarters Company to move cargo from the Military Sealift Command crane ship SS Cornhusker State (T-ACS 6) to the deck of U.S. Army landing ship USAV Aldie (LCU-2004) during exercise Joint Logistics Over the Shore 09. JLOTS is a critical capability that allows the military to move forces and supplies without the benefit of a fixed, deep-draft port. The exercise will demonstrate the Navy, Army and Marine Corps ability to deploy, discharge and conduct reception and staging of equipment in a scenario that requires ships to offload while still offshore.
