150401-N-GT710-009 SAN DIEGO (April 1, 2015) - Master Chief Ship's Serviceman Ioapo Puaatuua (right), the eldest master chief petty officer aboard amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8), and Chief Boatswain's Mate Danielle Rosetti, the command's youngest chief petty officer, participate in a ceremonious cake cutting in celebration of the Navy's 122nd anniversary since the establishment of the rank of chief petty officer. Makin Island recently returned from its second western Pacific deployment and is at its home port Naval Base San Diego for a scheduled maintenance period.
