U.S. Marine Cpl. Robert Ryals conducts fire for 81 mm mortars from the command-and-control center at the Command Post Exercise March 26, 2015. Latvian soldiers and U.S. Marines operated the mortars and proved combined proficiency with their weapon systems throughout Exercise Summer Shield at Adazi Military Base, March 22-31. More than 1,000 service members from six NATO Allied nations participated in the exercise to enhance enduring partnership and improve collective defense.
