Troopers from 3rd Squadron, 2nd Cavalry Regiment, Latvian Soldiers, and German Soldiers demonstrated their joint Chemical Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear, reaction capabilities to Latvian President Andris Berzins and an entourage comprised of more than 30 multi-national service members and diplomatic representatives at Adazi Military Base, Latvia, March 30, 2015. The CBRN demonstration included the decontamination of two IAV Stryker vehicles and their operating crews. During their visit the distinguished guests toured the facilities and observed joint exercises during the currently ongoing Operation Summer Shield XII, a 10-day evolving training process during which partner forces from the U.S., Latvia, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Germany, Canada and the United Kingdom have worked alongside one another in combined arms and live-fire maneuvers. Operations like OSS XII provide great platforms to expand the involvement of U.S. troops in the region improving interoperability and confidence among NATO allies. (U.S. Army photo by 1st Lt.
