150328-N-LM312-001 WATERS TO THE EAST OF THE KOREAN PENINSULA (March 28, 2015) – The forward-deployed amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard's (LHD 6) Supply Department gathered for a group photo on the flight deck in the shape of an "E" in honor of being presented with their 14th consecutive Logistics Management Excellence Award, the Blue "E". The Blue "E" is given annually to a Ship's Supply Department which meets and/or exceeds the stringent high standards set by COMNAVSURFOR. The Supply Department's Food Service Division was also honored for winning the 2015 Captain Edward F. Ney Memorial Award (Large Afloat Category) for food service excellence. U.S. Sailors and Marines from the Bonhomme Richard Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) and the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) are participating in the Korean Marine Exchange Program (KMEP) in the Republic of Korea (ROK) with the ROK Marine Corp and Navy. The Bonhomme Richard ARG is comprised of the amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6), the amphibious transport dock ship USS Green Bay (LPD 20), the Whidbey-island class amphibious dock landing ship USS Ashland (LSD 48) and the embarked 31st MEU.
