150315-N-XN499-012 GOLF OF OMAN (March 15, 2015) – Aviation Boatswain’s Mate Handler 3rd Class Christopher Sewell from Cincinnati, Ohio, assigned to the amphibious transport dock ship USS New York (LPD 21), directs the landing of a MV-22B Osprey assigned to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squardon 365( Reinforced). New York is a part of the Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) and, with the embarked 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) is deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security in efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
