WATERS TO THE WEST OF THE KOREAN PENINSULA (March 12, 2015) Fire Controlman 2nd Class James T. Masterson unloads a Phalanx close-in weapon system (CWIS) while underway aboard the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Michael Murphy (DDG-112) during exercise Foal Eagle 2015. Murphy is on patrol in the 7th Fleet area of operation supporting security and stability in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region. Foal Eagle is a series of annual training events that are defense-oriented and designed to increase readiness and maintain stability on the Korean Peninsula while strengthening the ROK-U.S. alliance and promoting regional peace and stability of the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
