150320-N-NT265-060 EAST CHINA SEA (March 20, 2015) – Operation’s Specialist 3rd Class Benjamin Rodriquez, assigned to the forward-deployed Whidbey Island-class amphibious dock landing ship USS Ashland (LSD 48), fires a .50-caliber machine gun during a live fire exercise. Ashland is part of the Bonhomme Richard Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) and, along with the embarked 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, is currently conducting a certification exercise (CERTEX).
