150320-N-NT265-013 EAST CHINA SEA (March 20, 2015) – Gunner’s Mate 2nd Class Eugene McBride, from Lemoore, Calif., assigned to the forward-deployed Whidbey Island-class amphibious dock landing ship USS Ashland (LSD 48) gives training to Operation’s Specialist 3rd Class Benjamin Rodriquez on a .50-caliber machine gun. Ashland is part of the Bonhomme Richard Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) and, along with the embarked 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, is currently conducting a certification exercise (CERTEX).
