PACIFIC OCEAN (March 17, 2015) Marine 1st Lt. Alexander Newham from the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) teaches a technique from the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program (MCMAP) on the flight deck of Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Essex (LHD 2). Essex is underway participating in a Composite Training Unit Exercise (COMPTUEX) with the Essex Amphibious Ready Group (ARG), which is comprised of Amphibious Squadron (PHIBRON) THREE and 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU).
