PACIFIC OCEAN (March 16, 2015) Marines from the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) transit from Camp Pendleton to Whidbey Island-class dock landing ship USS Rushmore (LSD 47) in an amphibious assault vehicle (AAV). Rushmore is underway participating in a Composite Training Unit Exercise (COMPTUEX) with the USS Essex (LHD 2) Amphibious Ready Group (ARG), which is comprised of Amphibious Squadron (PHIBRON) THREE and 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU).
