150316-N-DJ750-059 ARABIAN GULF (March 16, 2015) An EA-18G Growler from the “Cougars” of Electronic Attack Squadron (VAQ) 139 launches from the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) while steaming in formation with French aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle (R91). Carl Vinson is deployed in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations supporting Operation Inherent Resolve, strike operations in Iraq and Syria as directed, maritime security operations, and theater security cooperation efforts in the region.
