Members of the Puerto Rico State Guard wait in the shade to play their role as victims in Operation Borinqueneer Response were Nebraska Air and Army National Guardsmen will aid them after an “earthquake” March 17 at Camp Santiago Joint Maneuver Training Center. This U.S. Northern Command and National Guard Bureau-sponsored operation is a special focus event for the Puerto Rico National Guard with an estimated cost of $1.5 million. It will consist of a series of training exercises designed to evaluate and enhance the readiness of the National Guard in performing state roles and responsibilities when working with other guards, local and state civilian and military emergency response agencies.
