    III Marine Expeditionary Force

Col. Scott F. Stebbins congratulates Marines on their hard work and for reaching 100 percent equipment readiness March 13 on Marine Corps Air Station Futenma. The commanding officer of Marine Air Control Squadron 4, Lt. Col. John C. Barry, put the last bolt in a Humvee. Once the final bolt was in, MACS- 4 became the only unit in the Marine Corps to be at 100 percent equipment readiness. “We call it a unicorn, because you may hear about it but you’ll almost never see it,” said Chief Warrant Officer Sean C. Flores. “It’s almost impossible to do this, especially in III (Marine Expeditionary Force) because of our operational tempo. Everything is back-to-back.” Flores, from West Palm Beach, Florida, is a motor transport officer with MACS-4, Marine Air Control Group 18, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, III MEF.
