Staff Sgt. Jerrod Nimmons, a patriot crew member with 3rd Battalion, 43rd Air Defense Artillery Regiment, 11th Brigade, performs a push-up for the Army physical fitness test during the first day of the Soldier and Non-commissioned Officer of the Year competition, April 6. Nimmons, who has been in the Army for seven years, believes being an NCO is about making sure everyone can do their job, leading them in the right direction and making sure that the job gets done. "As an NCO, I encourage my Soldiers to take advantage of all the opportunities that are given to them and to make the best of their time in the military."
