South Carolina National Guard Soldiers from the 265th Engineer Detachment and 266th Fire Fighter Detachment hammer nails into boards that will be used to create supports to shore up the walls and roof of a building damaged for the training exercise, March 9, 2015, as Gen. The training was part of Vigilant Guard 15, a training exercise consisting of National Guard Soldiers from South Carolina and Georgia as well as local and state emergency responders that reacted to a variety of situations including a collapsed building, assisting casualties and conducting decontamination procedures at the CRRC and other sites. Vigilant Guard is a series of federally funded disaster-response drills conducted by National Guard units working with federal, state and local emergency management agencies and first responders.
