150304-N-FR671-163 PACIFIC OCEAN (March 4, 2015) – PACIFIC OCEAN (Mar. 4, 2015) – Aviation Boatswain’s Mate 1st Class Lawrence Salalila, assigned to amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6), uses a flight deck scrubber to clean the hangar bay after an aqueous film forming foam light-off test. America is currently conducting maritime training operations off the coast of California. The ship is the first of its class and is optimized for Marine Corps aviation.
