A U.S. Marine with Battery "E", 2nd Battalion, 11th Marine Regiment, places the insignia for a corporal in the Japan Ground Self Defense Force on his collar which he traded for one of his own on San Clemente Island during Exercise Iron Fist on Feb. 22, 2015. Exercise Iron Fist 2015 is the 10th anniversary of a bilateral training exercise between the U.S. Marine Corps and the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force, meant to strengthen interoperability between the two militaries.
