San Diego (Feb. 25, 2015) - Sailors and Marines assigned to amphibious transport dock ship USS San Diego (LPD22) and the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) man the rails as the ship returns to its homeport at Naval Base San Diego completing its maiden deployment. San Diego, part of the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, and the embarked 11th MEU is returning following a seven-month deployment to the 3rd Fleet, 7th Fleet and 5th Fleet areas of operation.
