PACIFIC OCEAN (Feb. 23, 2015) -- Chief Aviation Boatswain’s Mate (Handling) Nnamdi Emenogu looks on as an AV-8B Harrier, assigned to Marine Attack Squadron (VMA) 311, approaches the flight deck of amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6). America is currently conducting training maritime operations of the coast of California. The ship is the first of its class and is optimized for Marine Corps aviation.
