Army Reserve Staff Sgt. Charles Spears, administrative sergeant for the 85th Support Command’s surgeon’s section headquartered 25 miles northwest of Chicago, and in his civilian capacity he serves his community as a Chicago Police Officer. Spears additionally serves his community by reaching out to at-risk youths in hopes to show them a different way of life and encouraging them to find something better.
