Service members embarked aboard the Military Sealift Command hospital ship USNS Comfort carry bags of rocks a half mile into the rainforest in the Colon province of Panama. The crew of Comfort is helping the Embera tribe build a dam to collect clean water. The Embera are one of seven native tribes in Panama. Comfort is in Panama for its fourth stop on the Continuing Promise 2009 four-month humanitarian and civic assistance mission to Latin America and the Caribbean region.
