Sgt. Barrows along with other Soldiers from the 379th, were on site to assist the local department of public works and Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority officials clear the parking lot and walk ways. The 379th, along with more than 500 other Soldiers from the Massachusetts National Guard, have been activated in response to the historic levels of snowfall that has happened in Massachusetts. The 379th Engineer Company, is the only horizontal engineer company in the state, which gives them the unique ability to greatly assist local officials with snow removal in order to help ensure public safety.
