EASTERN PACIFIC (January 11, 2015) USS Gary prepares to launch her Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat with a joint U.S. Coast Guard law enforcement detachment and Navy boat crew to approach a suspected narcotic smuggling vessel in international waters off the coast of Central America with support from one of GARY’s SH-60B helicopters from HSL-49 Detachment 4. USS Gary is currently underway in support of Operation Martillo, a joint operation with the U.S. Coast Guard and partner nations, within the 4th Fleet area of responsibility.
