Michael Shields, U.S. Army Alaska commanding general (front, third from left), joins service members from 12 nations as the prepare for a Cold Regions Military Mountaineering Collaborative Event taking place at the Northern Warfare Training Center this week. USARAK invited subject matter experts and commanders from Australia, Great Britain, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Japan, Mongolia, Nepal, Norway, Sweden and 15 U.S. partners to gain hands-on experience that will help increase operations capabilities in cold, mountainous environments.
