Japan Self Defense Force Cmdr. Hiroko Takigawa walked through an MV-22B Osprey for the first time Feb. 6 on Marine Corps Air Station Futenma. Takigawa, a member of the Japanese Observer Exchange Program, learned about the abilities of the Osprey and how it is useful in many different situations. The Osprey performs short and vertical take-offs and landings, giving it the ability to access landing zones not accessible by fixed-wing aircraft. The aircraft is with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 265 (Reinforced), Marine Aircraft Group 36, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, III Marine Expeditionary Force. (U.S. Marine Corps Photo by Cpl. Thor J.
