Staff Sgt. Aaron Denoon (left) and Sgt. Brandon Marshall, both with 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, recover the Raven Unmanned Aerial Vehicle after landing it in a field during training Jan. 22. Marshall and Denoon will be putting the Raven UAV to use for the first time during their unit’s rotation at the National Training Center at Fort Irwin, Calif., in March. The Raven UAV is designed to separate into three major pieces in order to lessen the force of impact with the ground.
