A U.S. Army crew chief assigned to the 1st Battalion, 228th Aviation Regiment starts pre-flight checks on a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter for deck landing qualifications at Soto Cano Air Base, Honduras, Feb. 1, 2015. The 1-228th Avn. Reg. aircrew participated in deck landing qualifications on board the USS Kauffman to qualify pilots and crew chiefs on shipboard operations. Kauffman is on its final scheduled deployment to the U.S. Southern Command area of responsibility supporting multinational, counter-narcotics operation known as Operation Martillo.
