German oil tanker Spessart (A 1442), front, prepares to deliver fuel to Standing NATO Maritime Group 2 (SNMG2) Canadian ship HMCS Fredericton (FFH 337) during a replenishment at sea. Spessart recently joined SNMG2 to provide regular refueling support. SNMG2 is a multinational, integrated maritime force made up of vessels from various allied countries whose mission is to ensure the safety and security of allied waterways and provide a unified presence to deter terrorist activity in the region.
